• Kelly M. Ogilvie

  President and CEO

  Kelly is a co-founder and President of Blue Marble Energy. Based in Seattle, Blue Marble Energy is an algae biomass to energy company that is pioneering algae applications for petroleum displacement and other renewable products.

  Kelly's professional past is rooted in politics and business, with a wide range of experience extending from working for the Mayor of Seattle Greg Nickels, former Washington State Governor Gary Locke, national and local campaigns, Paul Allen's Vulcan, and the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce. Kelly has a passion for alternative energy and clean technology which led him to pursue the development of BME's algae to energy technology and business model with James Stephens in May 2005.

• James Stephens

  Vice President and COO

  James is a co-founder of Blue Marble Energy. Prior to co-founding BME James worked extensively in field of Industrial Microbiology with a focus on pathogen detection and control technologies, alternative energy generation through fermentable resources, and bioremediation projects. James has engaged in extensive R&D, product development, and commercialization of a variety of traditional and genetic based assays for pathogenic organisms for both the industrial and medical diagnostic industries. Additionally, James’s strong interest in alternative energy and bio-remediation have lead him to perform extensive independent research on the use of microorganisms to generate alternative energy, which included the development of a system to that utilizes waste materials in the process of methanogenisis for fuel and energy production. Blue Marble Energy came about during business development and alternative energy discussions with co-founder Kelly Ogilvie and the belief that there has to be not only a better bio-fuel feedstock than what is currently available, but one that is not resource intensive like farms or bioreactors. James and Kelly have identified an untapped worldwide resource that could potentially rival current petroleum reserves and is continuously and naturally renewed.

  Mr. James Stephens started pursuing his education in the field of chemical engineering at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. After deciding that biotechnology was the wave of the future Mr. Stephens changed paths to study Microbiology and Medical Technology with an emphasis on Industrial Microbiology and its applications. James graduated with honors with a B.S. in Microbiology and Medical Technology from the University of Montana – Missoula. Mr. Stephens most recently comes from an international medical diagnostic company as the Director of Microbiology and New Product Development managing the international research, development, production, and commercialization of a extensive pipeline of novel and pioneering diagnostic assays for the medical field.

• Kirk Dickinson

  CFO

  Kirk has a diverse background of financial, operational and systems experience at a variety of company sizes. His most recent position as CFO of AllRecipes.com included all stages of company development from early stage funding through acquisition by the Reader’s Digest Association. Prior to Allrecipes.com Mr. Dickinson served as the controller at MarketOrder.com, a supply chain integrator for grocery stores. As the VP Finance for Orrtax Software Mr. Dickinson gained knowledge on software development and data center management. Financial and general manager positions in the waste and recycling industry companies provided 11 years of experience in operations, municipal contracts and business develent.opm

• Brandon DeCuir

  Vice President of Business Development, Bangalore, India

  Brandon has over ten years of experience in a wide range of roles within emerging technology companies. Most recently he was pioneering software in the online social networking space as the CEO of WDG, Inc. and it's subsidiary Divvy.com. Previously he was the Founder and Managing Director of AffectImage, a computer vision company building revolutionary technology for the out of home advertising space.
